Homemade Cinnamon Chips

Recipe by Heidi Ellis

Cinnamon chips are so yummy when they are made homemade! They aren’t even that hard. You just need a few ingredients, a food processor or blender and a cookie sheet…oh and your oven too!

You just put all the ingredients in the food processor, (I like to use this over the blender) and hit chop and 30 seconds later it’s done.

Dump everything on the cookie sheet and flatten it out. Then you bake it!

When it’s done, it will look melted, and shiny. Once it’s cooled you cut it into pieces. Easy as pie!!

They are great in muffins, cakes, cookies, oatmeal, what ever strikes your fancy.

Here’s the Recipe

Homemade Cinnamon Chips

Ingredients

1/3 cup coconut sugar

1 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon solid coconut oil

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. preheat your oven to 225 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment
  2. . Combine all the ingredients in you food processor or blender. You can also do it in a bowl with a fork. The food processor is much faster.
  3. Pour the mixture onto the baking sheet and press it down until it’s about 1/8 of an inch thick. It helps to use a piece of parchment or wax paper to press it down if the mixture is really sticky.
  4. Bake for 5-30 minutes. It will look melted and bubbly.
  5. Remove from the oven and let cool. It will become firm. If you want to speed the process, or it seems to not want to firm up (this can happen if your kitchen is very warm) put it in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  6. When it’s firm, cut it into small pieces with a knife or pizza cutter. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
